San Damiano Retreat, a non-profit retreat center in Danville, CA, is seeking a Backend Technical Support Contractor to help us integrate and maintain our technology infrastructure during a critical platform transition. This is a remote role (Bay Area-based) with occasional short onsite visits (approximately once a season) after a final in-person interview.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues on our platform, including our WordPress site

• Configure and maintain integrations between Planning Pod, Neon One, EventOn, WordPress, and third-party tools (Constant Contact, Stripe, Outlook, Zapier)

• Set up workflows and automation to ensure seamless data flow across platforms

• Provide ongoing technical support and maintenance (~10 hours/month post-setup)

• Take initiative to diagnose and solve technical problems as they arise

• Communicate technical issues and solutions clearly to non-technical staff

What You'll Need

• Hands-on WordPress administration and troubleshooting experience (required)

• Strong understanding of API integrations, webhooks, and platform connections

• Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

• Ability to quickly learn new platforms and systems

• Self-directed; comfortable working independently and taking initiative

Nice-to-Haves

• Zapier experience

• Familiarity with event management, CRM, or donor management systems (Planning Pod, Neon One)

• Database system integration experience

The Commitment

• Initial phase (Aug–Oct 2026): 15–20 hours / month

• Ongoing: ~10 hours/month

• Open-ended contract

• Fully remote with occasional short in-person visits (approximately quarterly or as needed)

• Reports to: Director of Sales, Marketing, & Development
