About The Role


We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Technology Leader to oversee critical systems responsible for delivering our innovative education technology platforms. In this role, you will lead technology teams within our Internal Operations business unit, focusing on Content Systems, Content Workflows, and Content AI platforms. Your leadership will be instrumental in building and managing remote software engineering teams using agile methodologies to develop high-availability enterprise software solutions. You will collaborate closely with product and design teams, leveraging data-driven insights to inform decision-making and enhance user engagement.


This role requires a balanced approach between technical development and product management, involving content workflow automation, application development, and platform support. You will work in a multi-functional, agile environment, providing strategic direction and leadership to cross-disciplinary teams. The successful candidate will own the development lifecycle, from designing and architecting new features to iterating based on user feedback and performance data. Your expertise will help deliver scalable products capable of supporting millions of customers, ensuring a reliable and high-performing user experience around the clock.


You will also engage with product partners, customers, and technologists to understand their content, learning, and technological needs, providing guidance on suitable technology solutions. Effective communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders is essential, as is a proactive approach to staying current with emerging technologies and industry trends. Your leadership will foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and innovation, ensuring our platforms remain at the cutting edge of educational technology.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of technology leadership experience, including developing strategies, fostering innovation, and managing distributed teams across multiple time zones
  • Deep understanding of generative AI concepts, frameworks (LLMs, multimodal models, prompt engineering, AI agent orchestration, retrieval augmented generation, vector databases)
  • Hands-on experience with commercial and open-source GenAI tools (e.g., OpenAI, Hugging Face, LangChain)
  • Knowledge of AI safety, responsible AI practices, and content moderation systems
  • Experience modernizing legacy architectures, migrating to cloud-native platforms, and implementing hybrid cloud strategies (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, AWS CDK), containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), serverless computing, and event-driven systems
  • Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and tools like Jira or Azure DevOps
  • Understanding of content management systems, digital asset management, content workflows, and educational content requirements
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively across diverse teams and audiences

Responsibilities


  • Lead all aspects of critical systems for delivering innovative education technology platforms, focusing on Content Systems, Content Workflows, and Content AI platforms
  • Build and lead remote software engineering teams using agile principles to architect and deliver scalable, high-availability enterprise software solutions
  • Collaborate closely with product and design teams, providing technical guidance and data-driven insights to inform product development
  • Design, architect, and implement new features, owning the development process through an iterative methodology to ensure products support millions of users reliably
  • Partner with customers and product teams to understand their content, learning, and technological needs, and recommend appropriate technological solutions
  • Communicate complex technical information clearly to cross-functional teams, including learning designers, interface designers, and domain experts
  • Monitor product performance, analyze data, gather user feedback, and continuously iterate to improve platform reliability and user experience
  • Conduct post-release evaluations, retrospectives, and A/B testing to inform future enhancements and strategic planning
  • Adopt agile and customer-centric methodologies to support rapid development cycles and continuous improvement
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and integrate relevant advancements into product roadmaps
  • Foster a high-performance, transparent culture focused on accountability, innovation, and results
