The Shade Shop is a luxury lighting and décor retailer based in Charlottesville, Virginia. We specialize in designer lampshades, lighting, and home decor. Our online store is growing rapidly, and we’re looking for an experienced Shopify developer with strong coding skills to help us maintain and improve our site on an as-needed basis.

Role Overview:

We’re seeking a Shopify developer who is fluent in code (Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript) and understands how to bring creative, functional designs to life. You’ll handle project-based development, updates, and enhancements that ensure our site performs beautifully and aligns with our brand’s refined aesthetic.

Upcoming Project Example:

Our next project involves building a new Shopify page that includes:

1. Image galleries and formatted copy
2. A custom fillable form
3. Seamless integration into the existing theme

Responsibilities:

1. Write, edit, and debug custom code in Shopify (Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
2. Develop new pages, forms, and features
3. Maintain responsiveness and visual consistency across devices
4. Collaborate with our team via regular updates and calls
5. Ensure clean, efficient code and strong attention to detail

Requirements:

1. Proven experience with Shopify theme development and custom coding
2. Deep understanding of metafields, dynamic content, and section-based editing
3. A strong eye for design and alignment with luxury brand aesthetics
4. Must be located in the U.S., ideally within the Eastern Time Zone
5. Available for communication during business hours
