What Yo'll Do


As a member of our network, you will be matched with opportunities to teach Illustration (ideally with experience in Comics and Manga) for K-12 students at schools, buildings, and communities across Wash DC. These teaching opportunities will be for terms that could last anywhere from 6 weeks to 18 weeks.

As an after school instructor, you'll have the following responsibilities:


  • Develop age-appropriate Creative Arts/Crafts curriculum for after-school students (Comics, Webcomics, Manga)
  • Lead weekly in-person classes with enthusiasm and expertise
  • Establish a well-structured and lively classroom that keeps students engaged
  • Foster a positive, supportive, and encouraging learning environment for students of varying skill levels
  • Build connections with students in a warm and inclusive environment
  • Track student growth and offer positive, helpful feedback
  • Arrive prepared, on time, and ready to teach
  • Create a memorable experience for the children in your class

A fun, enthusiastic, adaptable instructor, with experience teaching school age children, and who:

  • Has subject matter expertise in Creative Arts - Illustration specifically
  • Has a passion and skill for building hands-on projects with kids

  • Knows how to create a fun, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Brings your own voice and creativity to each class you teach
  • Is cooperative, supportive, flexible
