The Marketing and Communications Assistant provides administrative, operational, and creative support to the Director of Development and the communications team. This position assists with content preparation, project coordination, event support, digital communication scheduling, day-to-day marketing tasks, and assisting with development-related activities and projects as directed.
Essential Functions
- Assist with preparation and distribution of marketing materials.
- Support social media scheduling and basic content updates.
- Assist with coordinating calendars, deadlines, and communication schedules.
- Support event promotion and logistics.
- Maintain photo, media, and marketing asset libraries.
- Assist with website updates and email campaign preparation.
- Track basic marketing metrics and maintain reporting spreadsheets.
- Support donor communications and community outreach campaigns.
- Perform administrative support duties for the Director of Development.
- Coordinate printing, vendor communication, and supply ordering.
- Answer department phone calls, emails, and general inquiries in a professional manner.
- Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for marketing and development materials.
- Assist with meeting preparation, agendas, minutes, and follow-up tasks.
- Support data entry and maintenance of donor, sponsorship, and contact databases.
- Assist with preparing packets, reports, and materials for board meetings and community presentations.
- Coordinate mailings and distribution lists for campaigns and special events.
- Monitor inventory of marketing and office supplies and submit reorder requests as needed.
- Assist with photography, content collection, and storytelling efforts during events and organizational activities.
- Provide support for fundraising initiatives, donor stewardship activities, and development projects as directed.
- Assist team members with special projects and departmental initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive organizational and donor information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
