About the Role
Intricate is bringing IT support in-house at our Salem manufacturing facility. You will be the on-site face of IT for the office and the plant floor, and part of Intricate's global technology team.
The role also doubles as engineering support, putting you next to our engineers on cobot robotics, automation, and CAD work. You will need to be flexible and willing to work on a wide variety of tasks due to the nature of our small, focused team.
What You'll Do
You do not need to already have proficiency in each of these areas: just an interest and eagerness to learn.
IT and end-user support
- First point of contact for desktops, laptops, printers, phones, software, and accounts
- Log, track, and resolve tickets, escalating when needed
- Image, deploy, and replace PCs, peripherals, and shop-floor terminals
- Set up new hire equipment and process offboarding returns
- Assist other members of the global technology team with infrastructure, Microsoft 365, and security tasks
- Document fixes and build out our internal knowledge base
Engineering and automation support
- Help develop, set up, deploy, and troubleshoot 6-axis cobot cells, PLCs, and automation equipment on the plant floor
- Support automation projects with our engineers: networking cells, configuring controllers and HMIs, documenting builds
- Basic part and assembly modeling and production drawing updates in SolidWorks and Onshape
- Measurements, prototypes, documentation, and general project assistance
What You'll Need
- Strong Windows and general computer literacy, with a knack for troubleshooting
- Some 3D CAD exposure from coursework, work, or hobby use (SolidWorks, Onshape, Fusion, or similar)
- Genuine interest in robotics and automation, no experience required
- Clear communicator, organized, and reliable about documenting your work
Nice to Have
- Helpdesk, desktop support, or IT internship experience
- CompTIA A+ or a similar certification, or coursework toward one
- Programming experience and proficiency in any language (Python, PowerShell, C#, JavaScript, or similar)
- Hands-on robotics of any kind: cobots, industrial arms, PLCs, FIRST Robotics, or a personal build
- Basic networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi) or Microsoft 365 administration
- Manufacturing or industrial experience
- Curiosity about and proficiency with AI-assisted tools such as Claude, Codex, or Copilot
Education & Experience
- 0 to 2 years of experience. Recent graduates and career changers are encouraged to apply.
