Job Description:

Social Media Specialists are responsible for managing paid social media advertising campaigns, including account and campaign setup, audience creation, bidding and budget management, and regular testing for Carnegie’s higher education clients. They also support and mentor Social Media Associates by providing training and feedback on best practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Social Media Campaign Management
  2. Create social media advertising accounts and campaigns across all platforms per the latest best practices
  3. Optimize social media advertising campaigns on a monthly basis for optimal performance
  4. Review Social Media Associates’ tasks, ensuring campaigns are set up optimally and offering feedback and support as needed
  5. Reporting and Analysis
  6. Analyze campaign performance effectively based on monthly data trends seen in the platform and Looker Studio dashboards to create monthly client-facing insight notes
  7. Craft meaningful recommendations for client review based on campaign data trends that will have a positive impact on performance
  8. Internal Teamwork
  9. Work collaboratively in a team environment
  10. Show thought leadership through contributions in team meetings, including bringing forward ideas about process improvements, new best practices, and ways to test new ideas and services
  11. Keep pace with paid social media industry trends, sharing articles and updates from platform representatives to the team
  12. Participate in content creation such as social media blogs, webinars, and internal and external resources
  13. Supervisory Responsibilities
  14. Assist with training of Paid Social Media Associates and Specialists

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  1. Excellent attention to detail
  2. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to new technologies
  3. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team while simultaneously managing independent workload/tasks
  4. Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new and changing technologies
  5. Passion, energy, and enthusiasm for digital marketing and customer service/client success
  6. Due to the remote environment, effective communication and time management skills are required, as well as the ability to use/learn multiple technology platforms and switch between them on a regular basis
  7. Physical requirement: Must be able to work at a computer for prolonged periods

Credentials and Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree required; Marketing/Advertising major or concentration preferred
  2. Basic knowledge of the digital marketing landscape
  3. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  4. 2 years of relevant work/internship experience in the digital marketing space
  5. Data analysis experience preferred, particularly experience analyzing digital campaign metrics to measure success
  6. Working knowledge of or experience managing paid campaigns within Facebook Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Snapchat Business Manager, and/or TikTok Ads
  7. Familiarity with Asana or other project management tools a plus
