Title of Role: Senior Full Stack Engineer (Backend-Leaning)

Location: Remote (East Coast–friendly hours preferred)

Salary: $150,000 – $185,000 base salary + equity

Company Description

Our client is a fast-growing, venture-backed technology startup building AI-powered software for the transportation and logistics industry. Backed by top-tier investors, the company is tackling large-scale, real-world operational problems in a space that moves the majority of goods across the U.S.

The team is small, highly collaborative, and deeply product-focused. Engineers work closely with founders and customers, have meaningful ownership, and play a direct role in shaping both the technical foundation and company culture as the product scales.

What You Will Do

1. Design, build, and scale core backend systems and infrastructure that power an AI-driven platform
2. Take end-to-end ownership of features, from technical design through production deployment
3. Build and maintain integrations, APIs, and data pipelines that support customer workflows
4. Contribute to customer-facing product experiences on the frontend when needed
5. Partner closely with founders, product, and customer-facing teams to translate real-world needs into robust technical solutions
6. Improve system reliability, observability, and performance in a production environment
7. Support and evolve AI workflows, including pipeline reliability and operational improvements
8. Act as a senior technical resource for the team by debugging complex issues and raising engineering standards

Ideal Candidate Background

1. Several years of professional experience as a full stack software engineer, with a strong backend focus
2. Proven experience building and operating production backend systems in a startup or fast-paced environment
3. Strong proficiency in at least one backend language such as Go or Python
4. Experience working with modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React)
5. Solid understanding of databases, APIs, and distributed systems
6. Comfortable owning projects independently and delivering high-quality solutions end-to-end
7. Strong communication skills and enthusiasm for working closely with cross-functional teams

Preferred

1. Prior experience at an early-stage or growth-stage startup
2. Experience building integrations, data pipelines, or workflow-heavy systems
3. Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS or similar), infrastructure-as-code, and observability tools
4. Interest in or experience working with AI-enabled products (e.g., LLMs, automation, or applied ML)
5. Background in logistics, transportation, or operational software (nice to have, not required)

1. Competitive base salary: $150,000 – $185,000 (flexible based on experience)
2. Meaningful equity ownership as an early senior hire
