Responsibilities
The General Dentist will provide comprehensive dental care to patients of varying ages and needs. Responsibilities include:
- Performing comprehensive and periodic dental examinations
- Diagnosing dental conditions and developing appropriate treatment plans
- Providing restorative dentistry, including fillings, crowns, bridges, and other procedures
- Performing routine and surgical extractions within the dentist's scope and comfort level
- Providing preventive and emergency dental care
- Reviewing and interpreting dental X-rays and other diagnostic information
- Educating patients regarding treatment options, oral health, and preventive care
- Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Working collaboratively with dental hygienists, assistants, administrative staff, and specialists
- Following all applicable infection-control, OSHA, HIPAA, and professional standards
- Referring patients to specialists when appropriate
- Delivering an excellent patient experience with professionalism, empathy, and clear communication
Qualifications
- DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school
- Current and unrestricted dental license in [State]
- Current DEA registration, if required for the position
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Professional liability coverage as required
- Strong diagnostic and treatment-planning skills
